Taste of the Suburbs Event

Taste of the Suburbs came to the King of Prussia Mall Sunday night, as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of King of Prussia.

Many local restaurants and companies came to show their wares and offer sample of some of the most delectable food around!

My dinner companion and I began with sweet white wines from Black Walnut Winery, then moved on to Plaza Azteca with quesadillas, mini burritos and the best salsa- complete with fresh cilantro and tomatoes, for the best salsa I have ever tasted. Then onto Joe’s Crab Shack  for fresh steamed shrimp with spicy hot cocktail sauce and warm savory crab dip with crisp tri-color chips.

We entered a few drawings in hopes of winning, then got refreshing fresh pineapple martinis from Sullivan’s Steakhouse and delicious sweet strawberries dipped in chocolate from my favorite place ever- the Melting Pot.

Michael’s Deli offered up free pub glasses with crisp tart pickles, and then we feasted on crab cakes, mini burger sliders, savory salads, sweet cookies muffins and then new frozen Greek yogurt from TCBY. I tried the yummy cookies & cream, B got the creamy vanilla.

One of my favorite parts of the night was meeting Gail from Bridge Street Chocolates in Phoenixville. The Sea Salt Chocolates were amazing, as were the wasabi white chocolate pieces. And the chili chocolates were rich and spicy with a hint of heat.

This event was held in the grand Hall at the Mall in front of Niemen Marcus and Lord & Taylor, during the last hour of the mall being open, which made it very difficult for people to see the vendors, as people without tickets were just swooping in and trying to get food. Once you turned in your ticket, you got a lanyard identifying you as an attendee.

We stopped off at Creative Designs Hair Studio and spun the wheel to win, where I got a free manicure and B won a men’s haircut.

Capitol Grille, Costo, Becca’s and others offered up yummies, and then, after a couple hours, we were stuffed, and decided to head home.

Special thanks to John Alfonse of the Rotary Club of King of Prussia.

SICK!

Guess what! I've been dealing with the last few weeks- pneumonia.

Both lungs.

I really have nothing more to say on that.
