Sullivan’s Steakhouse Patio Debut with VIP Party

As the weather is changing, I’ve discovered the place to be in KoP…at Sullivan’s.

Recently I attended the VIP event of the month- with ribbon-cutting and the announcement of the new outdoor patio at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in King of Prussia.

Complete with their delicious, amazing, wonderful signature martini and mouth-watering, delectable crabcakes, cold peanut noodles in Chinese food take-out boxes, this was a superb introduction to all that Sullivan’s has to offer patrons in fine dining this summer.

The patio is off to the side in a great area that gives diners the warm afternoon sun and is appropriately shielded from hearing and seeing too much noise off Route 202. The patio is fully outfitted with HDTVs which makes Sullivan’s the perfect place to watch a game in a comfortable and exciting atmosphere.

The outdoor patio, which is covered to protect customers from the weather, also has wonderful heaters to keep warm on chilly nights. The patio seats 50 guests, while the private dining room hosts approximately 60-70.

The opening party included a very cool ribbon cutting with all the heavy hitters at Sullivan’s, as well as the lucky invitees to the party.

Did I mention the amazing signature martinis???

So, if you are looking for a place to enjoy the sunset, eat a delicious meal and enjoy the company that you have taken to dinner, in a glorious outdoor setting- then please make a reservation at Sullivan’s!

Counting Crows Rock Borgata Event Center

On April 28, 2012, Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa’s Event Center was home for a few hours to the Counting Crows- an amazing favorite band of mine since their appearance in 1991.

The Counting Crows kicked off the 1 ½ hour set with the ever-popular Sullivan Street, then segueing into their 6th studio release album hit, Underwater Sunshine.

The sold out show catered to new and old fans of all ages who listened in rapt attention to the Counting Crows, led by Adam Duritz and the crew as they left the audience in singing older favorites and new songs from the new album.

The Borgata’s Event Center, aptly named, was the perfect space for this band, as Adam and other band members joked with the crowd, brought them to their feet and really got into the music and voices swirling around them.

The Counting Crows didn’t play very long, but they kept the crowd moving with many favorites- Hospital, Rain King, and my fave, A Long December.

The opening band, Mean Creek, hails from Boston with Chris Keene, Aurore Ounjian, Erik Wormwood, and Mikey Holland. Lead singer Kenne commented we were a tough crowd, since many people were sitting down, but I really enjoyed them. They had a solid, hard-rock feel, and I totally dug that there was a girl in the band who could really play guitar.

After their set, the stage lit up once again and the Counting Crows sang to the people of AC- great show- great music- wonderful night!

Counting Crows are Adam Duritz (lead vocals, piano), David Bryson (guitar), Charlie Gillingham (accordion, keyboards), Dan Vickrey (lead guitar), Dave Immergluck (guitar, banjo, mandolin), Jim Bogios (drums) and Millard Powers (bass) all enjoyed themselves played for the fans of the Event Center.

Spring-Ford Youth Community Theater to Present The Laramie Project May 3-12

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!

High School StudentS Tackle Controversial Play

Spring-Ford Youth Community Theater is proud to present The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and the members of Tectonic Theater Project at the Spring-Ford 8th Grade Center located at 700 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468.

Performances run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, May 3rd through the 12th.  Curtain is a 7:30 p.m. The cast is made up of high school students in grades 10 through 12.  Spring-Ford Youth Community Theater President, Bonnie Fetteroff, directs.

Laramie is the capstone production for the group’s 2011-2012 season, its 14th. The extensive research that would ultimately become The Laramie Project began in November 1998, one month after Matthew Shepard, a young, openly gay man, was abducted, brutally beaten, tied to a fence and left to die on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming.

Over the course of eighteen months, the writers traveled to Laramie six times and conducted over 200 interviews with its residents to document the community’s views on homosexuality, their reaction to the crime itself as well as to the fact that the perpetrators were two local youth.

The New York Times hailed The Laramie Project as an “. . . enormously good-willed, very earnest and often deeply moving work of theatrical journalism . . .” and Curtain Up called it “. . . a play of forceful but never showy dramatic impact, its seriousness leavened with laughter”.

The Laramie Project asks the audience to call into question the beliefs and values that form the very foundation of modern society: faith, trust, tolerance, forgiveness, community, and the desire for truth.

Please Note: Due to adult themes and language, this production is only suitable for mature audiences. Tickets for The Laramie Project are available at the door at a price of $10, advanced tickets are available for $6 from any cast member or by emailing tickets@sfyct.org.

If you would like more information about this production or would like to schedule an interview, please contact Bonnie Fetteroff at 610-507-7780 or email info@sfyct.org.
