Cantaloupe Popsicles

Whether you're entertaining or just trying to cool off this summer, this DIY ginger cantaloupe popsicle recipe is the delicious, refreshing treat that you need to make.

The healthy, fruit-filled snack is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth – and the best part is they are guilt-free!

What you need:
·                3 slices of fresh ginger
·                1/4 cup sugar
·                1 ripe cantaloupe
·                Sliced strawberries (optional)
·                Popsicle forms and popsicle sticks

What to do:
1.              In a small sauce pan, add the sugar and 1/2 cup water over medium heat. Cook just until the sugar has melted. Remove from heat and drop in ginger.
Set aside until cooled. (Remove ginger when ready to use!)
2.              Slice cantaloupe in half and scoop out seeds. Spoon cantaloupe flesh into a blender. Blend until smooth.
3.              Add just enough of the cooled ginger syrup to sweeten as desired. Save the remaining syrup for another use.
4.              Pour into popsicle molds and freeze overnight. For a variation, push a few sliced strawberries down into the popsicle molds before freezing.

Beetology Rocks Summer Juices- Nature's Superfood

INTRODUCING NEW BEETOLOGY BEVERAGES:
SIMPLE, NUTRITION-PACKED JUICES MADE
FROM
NATURE’S SUPERFOOD – BEETS

Okay guys, this juice- is epic. I love beets, and I love ginger and berries. I have an awesome juicer, but pulling together it all can be messy and take a while to perfect the blend. When chilled, this is a perfect snack.

Kayco’s Beetology in 5 varieties: Beet + Lemon + Ginger, Beet + Veggie,
Beet + Tropical Fruit, Beet + Berry, and Beet + Cherry.
Kayco is proud to introduce Beetology, a new line of craft beverages made from one of nature’s untapped nutritional powerhouses, beets. These sweet, organic, cold-pressed juices are a delicious choice for today’s health-minded consumer.

According to Charles Herzog, Chief Beetologist and VP of New Business Development at Kayco, “The movement toward simple, easy-to-understand, healthy ingredients is now in the mainstream.

Beetology beverages contain no more than five ingredients – nothing but organic, natural, cold-pressed juice – perfectly blended for a crisp and unique flavor in every sip. The pure farm-to-table pedigree means you can taste the difference.”

All five varieties are 100% non-GMO, U.S.D.A. Certified Organic, and Certified Fair Trade. The 100% juice blends contain no preservatives, additives, artificial colors, or flavors. They are also non-soy, non-dairy, and certified kosher, making them perfect for anyone, any time.
Best of all is the way beets harmonize with other natural juices. Every perfectly-crafted Beetology blend packs a crisp, delicious punch that’s refreshing, nuanced, and not too sweet.

Varieties include:
Beet + Lemon + Ginger
Beet + Veggie
Beet + Tropical Fruit
Beet + Berry
Beet + Cherry

The myriad benefits of beets are well-documented. Dense in nutrients and high in antioxidants, they help boost energy, aid in weight loss, support cleansing and detoxing, and have anti-inflammatory properties. They’re also known to improve blood flow and help lower blood pressure.

As for those who balk at beets, Herzog says the trend is here to stay. “Beetology is out to prove just how sweet and tasty this misunderstood root vegetable is. We farm the finest beets with the perfect level of sweetness (brix) because we think that beetjuice should be both nutritious and delicious.

Launched in April, 2017, each 8.45 ounce bottle of Beetology is fresh, refrigerated, and ready to grab and go. Find it at health food, specialty, grocery, and kosher food markets.
Each single serve bottle retails for about $3.99 and can be found in the refrigerated product section.

Beetology is produced by Kayco, based in Bayonne, New Jersey (www.kayco.com). Follow Beetology on FB (FACEBOOK.com/Mybeetology) and Instagram @beetology.

Get Your Veggies with Mocktails

Mocktails are non- alcoholic cocktails. They offer a wide range of ingredients like fruit juices, veggie juices, spices, herbs, mineral water, ice and sweetener. Also known as mock cocktails, they’re a delicious, refreshing alternative to an alcoholic drink. And for people who don’t want to broadcast that they’re avoiding alcohol, mocktails are the perfect answer. If you ditch the alcohol and choose healthy ingredients, including a healthy low-calorie sweetener such as stevia, you can avoid a boatload of calories not to mention a hangover.

So if you want to get rid of the winter “pudge” and that muffin top, add mocktails to your spring shape up plan. You should also feel a lot better when you wake up in the morning.
You may also want to try a short juice fast with mocktails before dinner.

Icy Spicy Gazpacho
2 tomatoes, cut in chunks
1 cup fresh carrot juice (about 5–7 carrots)
1 lemon, juiced, peeled (if putting it through a juice machine)
1/4 cup cilantro, rinsed and chopped
1/4 teaspoon Celtic sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 small jalapeño, chopped
3 radishes

Place the tomato chunks in a freezer bag and freeze until solid. This is optional.
Or you can use fresh tomatoes placed in the blender; then you would need to add ice cubes.
Pour the carrot and lemon juices into a blender and add the frozen tomato chunks, cilantro, salt, cumin,  jalapeño, and radishes. Blend on high speed until smooth but slushy;
serve immediately. Serves 2.

Lemon Sipper
With less than 10 calories, this is an ideal low-calorie, vitamin C–rich thirst
quencher.
1/2 lemon, washed or peeled if not organic
1 cup unsweetened mineral water
2–3 drops liquid stevia
4 ice cubes
Juice the lemon and pour the juice into a glass over ice. Add the mineral water and stir to combine. Sweeten with stevia to taste.
