Now in its 15th year, the Taste of Phoenixville brings hope to so many who wish to make better lives for themselves.

The Good Samaritan Shelter has been very busy in 2016; “We were again awarded with the Seal of Excellence from the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, demonstrating our commitment to operating a well-managed organization, as well as providing shelter and services to over 150 men, women and children in Chester and Lancaster Counties,” says Nate Hoffer, Executive Director for the Good Samaritan Shelter

The Shelter is a Christian ministry that provides safe, comfortable housing and supportive services to men, women, and women with children experiencing homelessness in Chester and Lancaster Counties.

One of the shelter’s hottest initiatives is the Nourish Mobile- going around to local communities to ensure fresh produce is available to all. “Our Nourish Mobile Market paid nearly $50,000 in wages to guests of GSS, while selling nearly 20,000 pounds of fresh produce across our region.”

The CSS was also able to award $10,000 to guests of GSS through the unique Microloan program, and they were awarded $6,000 to guests of GSS through the Matched Savings Program

The Taste of Phoenixville is the yearly event that brings everyone together to celebrate a job well done, to meet people whose initiatives the GSS has assisted, and on opportunity to network and fundraise- all while enjoying the region’s tastiest cuisine.

Sarah Hackman, Director of the Board, is especially excited about this year’s event. "In an addition to many of our returning restaurants, we will have VIP early arrival and parking passes for Sponsors and amazing auction items like the YMCA Membership, golfing at 4 local golf courses, gift certificates for local restaurants, gift baskets for gardeners, dog lovers, sporting event tickets, and so much more, plus Live music is again provided by The Hytha Family Band.”

With this many amazing Restaurants under one roof for such a great cause- you don’t want to miss this
